Amy Schalet, PhD, is an assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology and a Faculty Affiliate in the Center for Research on Families at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Dr. Schalet's research on adolescent sexual health has included comparative studies of teen sexuality in the U.S. and the Netherlands. Her article, "Must We Fear Adolescent Sexuality?" was named Medscape General Medicine's Best Article in Obgyn and Women's Health of 2004. She was a featured speaker at the U.S. National STD Prevention Conferences in 2006 in Jacksonville and this year in Chicago.
